A Father Affirms Potential

A father has the responsibility to affirm the potential of his children.

The Bible shows that a father’s words help shape identity, courage, and calling, mirroring the way God the Father affirms His own Son and His people. God the Father declared about Jesus before his public ministry “in him I am well-pleased”. God called Gideon a “mighty warrior” while Gideon hid in fear.

The Bible consistently demonstrates God as a Father who speaks destiny into His children. Affirmation strengthens a child’s heart (Eph. 6:4), imparts identity (Prov. 18:21), awakens God-given purpose (Jer. 1:5), and equips the next generation to place their hope in God (Ps. 78:4–7).
